Tiger is 6 years old. He is just a little boy. If anyone has seen the expression of his eyes, you will feel joyful. He is a nice boy and won’t throw his temper easily. He was always smiling. When you looked at him you feel refreshing. His smile disappeared when his mother’s remarried.
3 months ago Tiger came to the Baan Than Namchai Orphanage. He was abused by his stepfather, who is a drug addict. There was a lot of scars on his arms and legs and also his back. His stepfather forced him to smoke and drink. His mother is a night club singer, she pays for everything in the household. Seeing that her son was badly abused, she was compelled to send the son to an orphanage. She hopes her son can have a better life.
Since he came to the orphanage, he has been receiving treatment for blood infections, anaemia and nutrition deficiency. The doctors said quite firmly: “If a little boy hadn’t come to Baan Than Namchai he would have died.” Now he is progressing well mentally and physically, but his medical treatment has got to continue. Every month he has to attend follow-ups at the Takua-pa Hospital. The sores on his arms and legs are now healing. Now his smile is back again. He’s more cheerful although he is quite shy.
